Rawit Bird Eye belongs to the Capsicum annuum species; it has a slightly late ripening, the fruit is elongated and pointed. It is often confused and mistaken for the Capsicum Frutences species, in fact the shape looks just the same, elongated and pointed but not so! This variety is widely used in Vietnamese, Indonesian, Crimean, Thailandese cuisines. The most famous meal is the salad made with chopped coconut, Rawit Bird Eye, lemon juice and salt. Thanks to its taste and a medium spiciness we can adapt it to many typical Italian meals, with a little bit of creativity we can fill wonderful dishes thus reinventing the typical use. The average level of spiciness is 200,000 SHU on the Scoville scale. It is mainly used dried, its shape guarantees a perfect drying in the sun, but if we can farm it or find it fresh it will have another taste, richer and more complete.
