Sowing takes place during the winter period, while harvesting during the summer. Despite this, the plant, which in the best conditions can reach a meter in height, needs to grow in order to grow: a warm climate, high humidity and soils rich in organic matter.

The birth of the chilli begins after 60-120 days from sowing and can last up to 2 months, this varies according to the area and climatic conditions.

The ajì charapita pepper is particular because of its small rounded appearance like a pea, and its color is usually yellow, but it can also vary from green to red.

It has an important role, also as a basic ingredinete, in many dishes of the Amazonian gastronomy.
