The plant loves the heat and needs to be placed in direct sunlight, because of this it needs constant watering, taking care that the soil fully dries in between irrigation, so as to avoid the aforementioned stagnating situation.
A typical disease of the plant is easily recognisable by dry and yellow leaves which will fall, in order to prevent this it's important to not over water the plant, making sure that it is receiving sufficient sun light and that your soil is rich with added compost. Also, antiparasitic products can be bought at any specialised gardening shop.
Once ripe, you can harvest your chilis, and for spicier results, you can leave the plant for a few days without water, before picking.
You can then enjoy your fruits, which will be delicious used in many easy recipes, conserves, jams and chutneys.
